Jungle buddies and Birds of Thane & Raigad District hosted a free bird walk on 13th November at Mumbra Creek.
15 enthusiastic birders joined the walk and were greeted with the presence of a large number of waders all over the creek.
Flocks of hundreds of Black Tailed Godwits flew in to accompany the Little Stints, Lesser Sand Plovers, Curlew Sandpipers, and Marsh/Common/Wood Sandpipers.
We also observed the feeding behaviour of Northern Shovelers and Common Teals, swaying their bills sideways on the mudflats. Black Capped Kingfisher was an unexpected sighting that had everyone surprised.
The walk ended with lots of memories and a group photo.
