Barvi Forest Nature Trail

Barvi Forest Nature Trail: Discovering the Wild Side of Thane

Tour Date: November 2, 2025

On November 2, 2025, five enthusiastic explorers from the Jungle Buddies community set out for a pleasant nature trail through the peaceful Barvi Forest. Organised by Jungle Buddies Tours and led by guide Rajesh Poojary, the group walked deep into the thick green areas to see the rich plant and animal life of the region, focusing mainly on birdwatching and photography.

The forest trail was very rewarding. The group was able to spot and photograph several beautiful bird species. Key sightings included the Lesser Flameback woodpecker, the Indian Cuckoo Shrike, and the bright yellow Black-hooded Oriole. The air was filled with the distinct calls of the Greater Racket-tailed Drongo, and colourful flocks of Plum-headed Parakeets were also seen. The energetic Vigors Sunbird was another highlight of the morning.

It was a morning marked by the natural music of the forest and the shared happiness of finding new things. This trip served as a perfect reminder of why the Jungle Buddies community loves spending time in the wild.
