Karnala Bird Sanctuary Trip Report: A Jungle Buddies Tours Adventure
The thrill of birdwatching in a lush sanctuary filled the air as Jungle Buddies embarked on a captivating journey through Karnala Bird Sanctuary. Our adventure began on the vibrant Tadamba Trail, where the excitement quickly ignited. A flash of red caught our eyes as a striking Red Spurfowl darted through the undergrowth, followed by the elusive sight of a Fork-tailed Drongo Cuckoo. The melodious song of the White-rumped Shama filled the air, while vibrant flocks of Common Ioras and Brown-cheeked Fulvettas added a symphony of colour.
Eager to discover more feathered gems, we ventured onto the Mortaka Trail. Here, a pair of Brown-capped Pygmy Woodpeckers treated us to a captivating display of their drumming skills. A surprise encounter with a female Yellow-crowned Woodpecker added to the excitement. The golden hues of the Golden-fronted Leafbirds shimmered in the sunlight, while the vibrant calls of Common Woodshrikes and Crimson-backed Sunbirds echoed through the verdant canopy.
Our final stretch on the Hariyal Trail unveiled even more avian treasures. We spotted the tiny, yet majestic Thick-billed Flowerpecker, followed by the enchanting Black-naped Monarch. But the grand finale was yet to come. The sight of the elegant Indian Paradise Flycatcher, its graceful feathers flowing in the breeze, left us awestruck.
Throughout the day, the symphony of birdsong filled the sanctuary with an undeniable energy. Each trail offered a unique soundscape, captivating our attention and leaving us utterly enchanted. On this memorable expedition, nature truly came alive for the Jungle Buddies, and with every bird sighting, a new travel memory was etched in our hearts.
