Description
Located at a distance of 96 km from the heart of Mumbai city is the famous coastal town of Alibaug. The beaches and fresh seafood attract millions of Mumbaikars every year. From a bird watchers perspective, Alibaug is the perfect heaven for birders. The rich coastal belt attracts many shorebird species which are long-distance winter visitors, while the mountain range attracts many birds of prey and forest birds.

Target species expected : On the sandy coastline, you would come across humongous flocks of seagulls and tern, ranging from a small Little Tern to Large Caspian tern. We would also be expecting various migratory shorebirds like sandpipers, godwits, Redshanks, Ruff, Plovers, curlews and whimbrels. As we trek the Ramdharneshwar hills we would be coming across raptor species like Steppe Eagles, Spotted Eagles, Black Eagles, sea eagles, falcons, harriers and small accipiters species.
