Free Bird Walk at Lake Nilje, Dombivli
We set out early for a bird-watching tour at Lake Nilje with Jungle Buddies Tours on 20 Aug 2023. The weather was perfect and we were excited to see what nature had in store. As we walked along the edges of the lake, we spotted 3 Yellow Bitterns and 3 Cinnamon Bitterns, gracefully wading through the shallow waters. Their bright colours were a sight to behold.
Moving on, we caught sight of 2 Common Moorhens swimming in the distance and 2 Bronze-winged Jacanas gracefully hopping on the lily pads. We couldn’t help but admire their distinctive markings and unique behaviour.
As we continued our walk, we were thrilled to spot 3 Grey-headed Swamphens, their striking blue plumage glistening in the morning sunlight. The lake was teeming with life, and we saw many more species of birds before our tour ended.
Overall, it was an unforgettable experience, and we were grateful to Jungle Buddies Tours for showing us the wonders of Lake Nilje’s birdlife.
