In Search of Pelagic Birds: A Monsoon Marvel on the Mumbai Coastline!
Witness the Ocean’s Secrets with Jungle Buddies Tours
Prepare for an extraordinary birding experience right here on the Mumbai coastline! Every year during the peak monsoon season, a remarkable natural phenomenon unfolds: powerful storms in the deep sea can bring fascinating Pelagic Birds – species that typically spend their entire lives far out in the open ocean – closer to our shores. This rare event offers Mumbaikars an unparalleled opportunity to observe these incredible, elusive seabirds without venturing miles offshore.
Jungle Buddies Tours invites you to make the most of this unique natural occurrence on our special FREE guided bird walk! Join our expert leaders as we scan the horizon from Sassoon Dock, Colaba, a prime vantage point for spotting these storm-driven visitors.
This is your chance to add some truly spectacular and uncommon species to your birding list! Keep your eyes peeled for magnificent birds like the Christmas Island Frigatebird, Lesser Frigatebird, Saunders’ Tern, Sooty Tern, Bridled Tern, Masked Booby, Greater Crested Tern, Wilson’s Storm Petrel, and many others that are otherwise inaccessible.
Whether you’re a seasoned birder hoping to tick off a rare sighting or a curious nature enthusiast eager to learn about the marvels of our marine ecosystem, this walk promises to be an educational and thrilling adventure.
