Description
There is a fleeting, magical moment in nature just before the heavy rains settle in or right after the first showers hit the parched earth. The dry landscape transforms overnight into a vibrant, pulsing green paradise.
Join us for our most anticipated annual ritual: the Tungareshwar Monsoon Magic Walk. This is not just a trail; it is an immersive journey into the heart of the forest’s seasonal rebirth. We are thrilled to announce that this special walk will be led by renowned birdwatcher, wildlife mentor, and master storyteller, Adesh Shivkar. Through his expert eyes and captivating stories, you will witness the hidden wonders of the forest that most people walk right past.
The Experience: Flora, Fauna, and Forest Tales
Tungareshwar Wildlife Sanctuary turns into a biodiversity hotspot during the onset of the monsoon. As we walk through the misty trails, Adesh will guide the group in decoding the secrets of the forest.
We will focus equally on the flora and fauna—from spotting the sudden, brilliant blooms of wild orchids clinging to ancient trees to tracking the melodious calls of monsoon-active birds celebrating the fresh rain.
Target Flora & Fauna
-
The Songsters: Listen for the incredibly rich, melodious calls of the White-rumped Shama (the undisputed singing champion of these woods), Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher and other forest birds.
-
Monsoon Blooms: Observe beautiful seasonal ground flora and spectacular epiphytic orchids draping the branches.
-
Macro Wonders: Keep an eye out for emerging monsoon life, including unique insects, frogs, and fresh foliage.
