Description
About the Site: TS Chanakya (Karave Wetlands) is located right off the famous Palm Beach Road in Navi Mumbai, the wetlands behind the Training Ship Chanakya (Indian Maritime University) have transformed into one of the most celebrated birding hotspots in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. This 13-acre tidal wetland is an absolute paradise for bird watchers and photographers, offering world-class sightings right in the middle of the urban landscape.
Habitat: This rich coastal ecosystem features a dynamic mix of tidal mudflats, shallow water pools, dense mangrove forests, and seasonal grassy edges. The changing tides bring in a daily buffet of algae and small crustaceans, making it a perfect feeding ground for migratory birds.
